Another successful first aid event at Topanga Days! Everyone was very happy with our continued support of the free sun block station!
Thanks to the Topanga Days Teams for making this such a great event!

The Team completed its first section of the Temescal Ridge fire road brush clearance project. From 8am to 5pm members work to clear about a mile of heavy brush from the sides of the fire road. The brush was creating a safety hazard for park visitors and limited clearance for the Rangers patrol vehicles.
This project will include additional days to complete around 3 miles of fire road.
Thanks to Brian G. we have tracked down a copy of the Josepho Team Road Game. Some of you who have been around for awhile may remember its creation and the all important Dr. Pepper launcher. Good Luck and Enjoy!

This was our second time providing fire watch to the roofs of Palisades High for their Firework Show. We had 4 teams and one safety officer covering all sections of the roof around the launch area in the center quad. The show as usual from the roof top vantage point was the best in the house.

There were no issues besides the normal hose leaks, breaks and repairs (thanks to Joe for bringing the repair kit) and only had one of Nick’s webbing disappear. After the event we headed over to Norms for some much deserved goodies.
We had a great turn out for the Team BBQ yesterday, both current and past members showed up. There was great food, conversations of past team events and where everyone is now. We even had a drop in visit by Travis. It was a lot of fun!

This year a unique Field Day site was picked, Temescal Peak in the Topanga State Park. We provided park monitors for the special event from Friday evening through Sunday afternoon. Team members camped out at the turn out where Temescal Ridge Fire Road meets the Backbone Trail. It was both the base camp (where cooking, gear and supplies were staged) with the Field Day station setup just below Temescal Peak. The peak is at 2126′ and provides a 360 view of Topanga State Park.

Over 100 hours of combined volunteer time was put in monitoring the event and was let by Tim (V104). This was an unique and fun event. You can view pictures of the event at the following link:

See you all there!
Yet another great event. We had a combination of EMTs/First Aid trained personnel that provided the primary first aid to the entire event. It was busy at times where every member was assisting someone. It was a blast. Can’t wait till next year.
Also had a pretty nice setup as you can see below. Thanks to Robert, Nick, David, Landon, Cassidy, Alex, Joe, Scott and our honorary members who came by Buckley and Forest.
